Since 1918, the Lutheran Home of Southbury (LHS) has welcomed and cared for people of all backgrounds and faiths who needed assistance during their later years.
In recent years, the Lutheran Home has become a pioneer in Alzheimer's and dementia care, providing services for individuals and their families from the early stages of a cognitive disorder until the final days of a person's life. These services include:

At its core, LHS is a skilled nursing care community for 120 individuals who need:
- Alzheimer's and dementia care
- Extended skilled nursing care
- Short-term rehabilitation
